Environmental & Conservation Initiatives

Markus has participated in a range of environmental and conservation activities through different organizations, communities, and initiatives across Maluku, Indonesia. His involvement reflects an interest in supporting efforts that connect environmental awareness, education, and community participation.

These activities have included fish release programs, mangrove planting, and marine and fisheries education for coastal communities. In several activities, experts were invited to share knowledge directly with local communities, helping make information about marine ecosystems, fisheries, and environmental protection more accessible to people living in coastal areas.

Markus has also been involved in environmental education for younger generations. Among these activities is Momotoa Goes to School, an initiative that introduces students to the importance of protecting the Bird-of-Paradise and preserving Maluku’s local biodiversity.

Although these activities were conducted through different organizations and initiatives, they share a common connection to environmental awareness and community engagement. Through his participation, Markus continues to support efforts that encourage greater understanding and care for the natural environment of Maluku.
