My Faith

My Faith (2018) is a short narrative film about Jory, a young man who loses his dog, Faith, but refuses to give up hope that they will find each other again. Built around a simple and intimate premise, the film follows Jory’s search through moments of persistence, uncertainty, and vulnerability, using the disappearance of his dog as a metaphor for holding onto faith when something meaningful is lost.

The story takes a turn when Faith is eventually found and returned by a young woman named Feren. What begins as a search for a lost companion becomes the beginning of an unexpected human connection, giving the film’s title a double meaning. The story suggests that holding onto faith does not always bring things back in the way we expect; sometimes, the journey toward what was lost can lead to something new.

Markus worked as the Screenwriter and Director, developing the story and its central metaphor while translating it into an intimate character-driven film. He shaped the narrative around the relationship between loss, hope, and unexpected connection, while directing the performances and emotional progression of Jory’s journey.
