Maluku Monthly Film Festival
Through Kelas Naskah, Markus initiated and led the first monthly film festival in Maluku, creating a recurring platform where local filmmakers could regularly present their work to audiences. As the main Person in Charge (PIC), he oversaw the initiative from its initial concept through planning and execution.
The festival was supported and funded by the Ministry of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia. Rather than organizing a single screening event, the monthly format was designed to create consistent opportunities for films to be exhibited, discussed, and experienced by audiences in Maluku.
Markus coordinated the festival’s programming, managed the team, and supervised the overall implementation of each event. Through the initiative, he sought to provide greater visibility for local filmmakers while creating more opportunities for audiences to engage with film on a regular basis.
Beyond showcasing individual works, the festival reflects Markus’s broader effort through Kelas Naskah to contribute to the development of Maluku’s film ecosystem by connecting filmmakers, films, and audiences within a recurring cultural space.
